The basic geography of chocolate

The cocoa tree originally was found in the rainforests of South America. It was cultivated and harvested there for many years. Chocolate then began to spread around different countries by means of boats. The country that was growing the most cocoa trees was Brazil until the 1990s, when a form of blight hit. The blight caused severe damage and brazil no longer had the highest cocoa tree population.
